7.2 Mbps now the mobile broadband benchmark

7.2 if you lucky it will be a long time before we see anything faster and when we do you will pay dearly for it.

I've already upgraded the firmware on my MTN modem. Been running at 7.2, and surprisingly, the response / refresh is improved.

Imagine 84 Mbps, that's roughly 10 MBps, which would allow me +-300 seconds worth of downloading per month on my 3 GB cap...just imagine, you pay monthly for a 5 minute service...just imagine

LOL

its sad :(
mobile speeds has officially bypassed adsl.

Very sad indeed. Though I'd be happy with our current 4meg ADSL if the cap was higher...

I just recently got a E180 modem, and even though it says it is connected at 7.2, is doesnt run at that. The fastest speed i got on it was last night, dling an update at 5.9Mbps, still much faster than ADSL.

Its just sad to spend 20% of monthly cap in under 10 mins :(

lol he is MTN Staff so it is a privelage that he has he gets 3 sim cards. 1 for wifee 1 for him and 1 for data but sim cant leave house cos they monitor where it is
