7.2mb Really?

I never said its more cost effective.

Its definitely more convenient.

But seeing as youre interrested in the cost effect... R1/MB is much more cost effective than R2/MB ;)

@GotTrend, I remember clearly that you posted in the news article discussion thread "7.2 Mbps HSDPA with bandwidth rollover", go and read every single one of v3g's posts that were posted prior to your post, and you will see that v3g did not recommend VCBBA for people who just wanted 7.2 and v3g specifically pointed out that one should only consider VCBBA if one needs an OOBR == IBR.

You failed to do your research when the answers were in the very same thread in which you posted - you should have done this research prior to buying a VCBBA PPDB - especially considering the fact that VCBBA PPDBs cost more than VCBBS PPDBs.

"But seeing as youre interrested in the cost effect... R1/MB is much more cost effective than R2/MB" Yes and?? this applies to both packages BBS and BBA.

Conveience is a luxuary that most can't afford ;)

Incidentally - why is it called "Broadband Advanced?" Try as I might, there's nothing "advanced" about it... Broadband Flatrate? Nope, that's been there for a long time already.

Interesting question, while I don't know the answer, I can suggest some possibilities:
  1. Bcos it requires some thought on the part of the customer before they choose it.
  2. Bcos it is not called Broadband 7.2.

Im sorry IC, your statements make no SENSE??? You are begining a circle argument here, please can you offer a decent argument if you are going to challenge one of my posts. Substantiate your reasoning with something that actually makes sense please.

1st of all I am not tied to any long term contracts, so I have no worrys. I bought one package to test if I could take advantage of the new advertised speeds and now I no I cant take advantage of what they are selling. That was part of my research. Let me not mention that I phoned vodacom first to confirm that the tower in my area is 7.2 compatiable.

2ndly We have already established that the OOBR that = the IBR not an advantage at all.

Now that we have got that out of they way. Please tell me how the people that dont have the time to go and read all the fine print and come and read this forum while trusting that vodacom is a repuitiable company are to find out that they should not be buying BBA for faster speeds.

So please forgive the average customer for falling prey to the part where Vodacom advertises in the bold part that their new Broadband Advanced offers opportunity for greater speeds upto 7.2 rather than the standard that only offers speeds upto 3.6.

Advanced
adjective
1) highly developed:
This is the most advanced type of engine available.

2) at a higher, more difficult level:
an advanced English course

In this case, i suppose nr 1 applies best to their marketing. Its better, newer, etc.
At the same time, nr 2 applies equally to people's lack of understanding with regards to the offering. Perhaps that was what Voda subconsciously intended in the naming.

aka: Higher Grade understanding only :D

BBA is neither Advanced nor Advantageous (to customers in any case)

OOBR = IBR (Advantageous),
and as an added bonus,
HSDPA 7.2 (Advanced).

GotTrend's post (very simple mathematics and very sound logic) clearly shows that BBA is everything but "Advantageous".

HSDPA 7.2 is so "Advanced" that (just about) nobody can get it because there's no backhaul.

The only positive thing about BBA is that in-bundle rates decrease the larger the bundle. Now, add that to BBS and it will instantly become Broadband Superior...

No need to apologise, hopefully this will make more sense:

Don't blame me or anyone else for failing to do your research before buying a VCBBA PPDB.
2ndly We have already established that the OOBR that = the IBR not an advantage at all.
Incorrect.

You have only established that the primary selling point of VCBBA [i.e. OOBR == IBR], is not advantageous to yourself.

You have not established that the primary selling point of VCBBA [i.e. OOBR == IBR], is not advantageous to anyone that has a different usage patten to yourself.

I do not represent Vodacom, but as a consumer, I stubbornly do not have sympathy for people who do not even attempt to research what they are spending money on before they purchase.

wot anton is getin @ is that BBA charges shud b wot BBS charges r. Kapish? ;)

ru serious? dat english. :)

No no no, that in english would read:

"Shoo, thank God none of you in this thread know what you are talking about. Imagine you all worked for DOC (?), we'd all be screwed."

What was written resembles something that someone born in the 90's might write due to a lack of a real education and too much MXIT. :)

Don't worry, I'm just pulling your leg. As a 30 something year old, I really fear for our country's future..not because of our ruling party, but because of the quality of education of the next generation...very scary.
