It Depends, when doing the job involves risking my life and confronting armed men who are known to be voilent... then yes.
Well done to the cops.
The title would have read so much better had it been "7 hijackers killed in 11 hours".
We must praise the work of these cops, and hopefully it spurs the others on to get off their butts and do some work.

I think its great news... unfortunately I agree with some previous posters, why is it making headline news that they are doing their jobs? Surely this is what is expected of them? On the other side of the fence I do believe that the recognition is a great boost in esteem for the coppers!
Again, as per a previous poster, "now they need to be convicted."
That is just the problem in this country. The laws are like cobwebs ~ "it traps small flies whilst allowing bigger insects to break through!"

If I was a cop and all I ever heard, no matter how hard I tried, was how "useless the police" are. I think I would feel unappreciated and try just a little bit less hard. On the other hand if I saw my efforts were appreciated I would feel motivated to do better.
Being a copy in South Africa is hardly a normal job by the way.

Well it just did. What gets posted is up to users - since nobody here gets paid to post - people post what they find interesting. It's nice that they caught these criminals, but how many others get away? Oh and what's the likelihood that these guys will be convicted (if really guilty)?

Well, he is right in that positive stories often get posted here and it is a fair assumption to look at the join date - after all it's there for a purpose.
