So sq enix will list their new titles on pc as 70 usd titles. 50 usd titles imho is already laughable... so xbgpc for me or wait until it drops by at least 50%

Unless this is the end game pal to push subs

  • Full words?
  • Capital letters?
  • Punctuation?
  • Grammar?
  • Syntax?

All very useful tools in the quest to get your point across.

But in keeping with the topic; its called inflation. If you haven't noticed the US is experiencing inflation at the moment which drives prices up. It sucks, but its a fact of life.

Just spent 5k on speakers for my pc with ease. So I'm sure 70 usd would not be problem but for a single game it's 'silly'. Let's check in when it is 80 or 90 usd a pop.

Big ripples are caused by Square Enix's Forspoken and Final Fantasy price announcement, but I don't believe they pioneered this price mark. I mean, this has been the talk since last year already, and Sony mostly championed it. We are already at the $59.99 "Standard Edition" price tag, when you tally the content packs now you already sit with an +$90 title. For all means and purposes, we are already at the ~$70 price mark. Regional pricing will help where applicable.

@Herr der Verboten isn't wrong, we are moving into gaming as a service. Business don't want you to have perceptual use licenses any more, it is already evident that accessibility to perceptual use is being limited by some market players. What companies want is you within their ecosystem, and they want you to be dependent on their ecosystem. This is the reason I supported Epic in the endeavours against Apple and Google.

I am still curious how Steam will go about their business model.

F2P is more common, but so is that same content, including the game play, heavily monetised.

Does it sit well with me, no. Ultimately we, globally, will become more reliant on internet connectivity and accessibility. Just know that your right to use will also come under contention.

I don't buy 'new' any more. Early adopters are all alpha/beta testers, and some games 'as promised' never even materialise. On Steam, it can take anywhere between 6-12 months to see a new title 50-60% discounted. This is the way.

I’ve had my PS5 for about a year and the only games I buy at full price are indies. All my AAA purchases are from 2nd hand or on sale.

Although I will 100% buy Elden Ring next year Feb.

And then there is this. After having paid "50", "60" or now "70" usd you've gotten a broken title which takes a few months to patch up to a playable state. Luckily with my backlog 6-12 months shouldn't be a problem and at that stage it is in a better state. I'm currently playing halo reach during the week, started on alan wake remasterd (weekends) and was waiting on resident evil village pc to get to a better state other than running a pirate version for better performance. Then I still see a humankind, mortel shell and wolfenstein II looking at me without forgetting other things still in my queue.

That.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla's expansion has been announced, which is not included within the current Season Pass and will cost $39.99, so, that is the Gold Edition $99.99 + $39.99 = $139.98 (cheap as chips), it is more than R2200, right?

I guess it depends how you view it - the expansion adds ~35 hours of gameplay. So basically like a whole extra game.

Yes, all I am saying is that a license to use can be expensive, this being a singular title with an existing Season Pass being extended. Alternatively, you can subscribe to Ubi+ @ R14.99 per month and play any Ubi game which your heart desires, or pay them $17.99 per month to access their content on Stadia.

Ubi is at least an enclosed ecosystem, they own all their content. The risk that a title can be pulled is low.

Then you go online and get creamed by the early adopters and their upgrades and experience. Generally I rather buy the franchises I am into early. Quality games over quantity.

Absolutely nothing on game pass catches my eye. Hasn’t for a long while. Literally only thing played there is minecraft for the kids.

Thats more your taste vs content. I have no problem finding content on there.

What I would love is for Microsoft to get some Ubisoft content on it or even better if Ubisoft+ can come to PlayStation.

I say better on PS, as competition sparks innovation.

F that. That's not competition, that's exclusion as it forces people onto a platform for no good reason.

Unless Sony or MS outright buys Ubisoft, the service should be on as many platforms as possible...

Which set did you get? Also looking.
Depends on what you have and what you are looking for. I already had a 24bit/192khz dac, so I replaced my Logitech Z533 with an Edifier T5 and 1280T. Apparently the PreSonus is also worth looking into if you want studio speakers.
