70 usd games starting 2022

yeah i will never pay that mutch for games its too much i only buy when 70% on steam sale unless it is one of the few games I really like such has hitman or dishonered or crysis etc but games are getting too expensive not that I play much at least not like PlayStation where games are excessively priced unless of course you use the monthly subs

I don't mind the "bloat", in fact I love it. For me its better than the 8 hour games that you play once and chuck onto the pile. I am now on day 4 (14 hours per day) Of Assassins Creed Odyssey. Playing only the DLC's cause when I installed the game I did not install Season Pass so only played the main game. I also love the fact that they have an option for people that don't wanna play the game (Helix Store where you can by the matts) I have yet to buy a thing on it.

Yes Unity was a wreck and thats probably why its burned into my mind so much. There of course have been others that I got Day 1 as well like Diablo 3 when it launched, which just caused days of complete frustration. I couldn't even install it because the disk it came on was merely a launcher to do the massive download and for some reason the download kept failing at a specific point.

I forgot all the games I have in the Epic Game Store as well >.< Also all entirely free, and some I'd really like to go through at some point like the batman games.

I played something like 64 hours of Odyssey and was attempting the main storyline. But I have like 2 hours max a day for games and/or other entertainment. So I'd play it every few days and eventually I was like 'who tf is this guy again? And wtf am I going on this quest for? And why tf cant I progress this thing until I level up again - so I need to do these pointless side missions (aka bloat) - when really I just want to experience the story. Ubisoft are like that and that's their formula for the big open world games they make. Odyssey in particular was hard to drop in and drop out of and I think it was probably all the Greek names xD Black Flag was my ultimate though and I MIGHT....MIGHT.....consider full price on day 3 or 4 if they ever release Skull & Bones. But that might never see the light of day.

What’s funny about this is that the sale price of games will be the old full price. What will the “buy it on sale” crowd do now?

PC gamers are increasingly paying console game prices now too and the hardware is overpriced.

Talk about existential crisis.
 
I will play my backlog and when that’s done,

Have a look here at a Bethesda title,

The above game is Doom Eternal, it released March 2020, in less than two months it was 25% discounted, in less than three months it was 50% discounted, by October it was 67% discounted, and as can be seen now it regularly hits 75% discounts, and I won't be surprised to see it being 80% discounted in the months to come.

I can do this with many other games and publishers.

Same here, I can never willingly buy a game over R350 unless it's really good and it'll keep me busy for a while or if it's a collection of games. AAA games are wayyyyy too ****in expensive nowadays. I get that making a game can be expensive but ****in hell, $70 for a game (even worse if it's unfinished)? On the other side, I don't like having to pay subscriptions to play games, I'm more of an "I want to own this game and play it whenever I like without having to worry about if I paid my subscription this month"-kind of guy. And I mean R1000 for ****ing FIFA and R1400 for RDR2 and many other games on release, it's insane. Even R750+ is a bit much for release.

I'll probably always be an old-fashioned "wait for steam sale" kind of guy, lol.

This. The only time I've ever pre-ordered a game was straight after I finished Yakuza 0 and then pre-ordered Yakuza Kiwami (remake of Yakuza 1 from 2005). Was horrible, there was no audio, the game lagged immensely (no, it's not my PC's fault), etc. So I waited until they released a patch for all that. Didn't take too long luckily but I could finally play the game afterwards (was nice). Learnt my lesson about pre-orders/buying on release day then and there.
