70 usd games starting 2022

Oh hell no.

Just paid R1919 for 3 years worth :p

I doubt MS will be that dramatic, but I do expect price increases. Once the adoption rate is steady, the increments may come more rapidly; however, the price will have to remain accessible. MS is baying to have the largest player base by buying IPs and as a result its user base. Time will tell how MS develops their gaming services and how integral it will become with other MS services. They want to bring the user’s home, and they want their users to pay one price.

I watched an interesting, but old talk by Valve, on how they developed an economy (Steam Marketplace) and how they tied that into the Steam Store and Steamworks. That approach has most certainly succeeded. Ubi tried with crypto, and I am unsure whether they will continue building their ecosystem.

Just an interesting approach by these digital publisher giants in their plans with onboarding new subscribers and retaining those subscribers within their respective ecosystems.

Isn't that what it is already? Do think about it: you will never have to buy a game again.

Well that is debatable
Have GP Ultimate and PS+ Extra but still buying games.

eg: Bought Harry Potter game last month, ok technically my wife bought it, I just played it.

ARK: Survival Evolved takes back promise of free Unreal Engine 5 upgrade

Making the announcement on their blog, Studio Wildcard officially unveiled ARK: Survival Ascended – “a next-generation remaster of our beloved ARK: Survival Evolved, harnessing the power of Unreal Engine 5”. The game is in the works for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and is planned for release by the end of August 2023.

While initially an exciting concept, this upgrade will unfortunately cost users $40, and that only includes the base game, Survival of the Fittest and the non-canon DLC maps. Those wanting the full ARK experience will need to cough up a further $40 for the game’s two expansion packs, meaning that all-in-all those wanting to upgrade to UE5 will need to spend more than the price of a brand new game to do so.

I wonder what the Unreal Engine 6 upgrade will cost?
