The same eyewitness who spoke to News24 earlier says some of the gunmen hid behind her bakkie during the shootout.

"I took my son, threw him under his bed. A few minutes later, I heard people running in my yard.

"They were all armed with machine guns. Some hid behind my bakkie. They later jumped over my wall followed by bullets from the police," the visibly traumatised woman said.

What a happy news article for once. 8 violent criminals eliminated, 8 more arrested with only 4 police officers shot and wounded, one being a helicopter pilot??
