I received my bill for August 2011 and it reflects an amount of 554.58. I understand the promo amount is R199 and mid night surf is R100, hence R299, I tried out the onceoff bundle of R50, so my bill should be R350.

On the summary of charges I see two numbers, my number 0814814xxx with total of R355 and another number 0814823xxx with total R199.

I went instore and the person told me that there is an unactivated sim on my name, that happened because the two people in the shop processed the application twice.

I put in a complaint for the above 3 weeks ago and I have not got feedback for the last two and a half weeks, I went in store today to inquire with my reference number and lady said no action has been taken.

She tried the numbers but could not get a hold of anyone.

I have a reference number. The next debit run will be this week and I will get debited R200 again. :(

I even emailed the 8ta Representative and got no reply a second time.

Same here but you forgot the R200 SIM card fee that applies on your first bill plus a pro-rata portion depending on what day you took out your contract.

It's all in the fine print (unfortunately)

On the other hand, after re-reading your post I could be completely wrong ....

They did the same thing to me as well! I just went in-store the next day and cancelled the second account. Guess what? They STILL charged R200 for sim and connection on the other account!!! So Then I had to call and they reversed the amount. I am going to get debited on the 30th. I hope the amount is correct.

8ta accounts are a nightmare! It's unbelievable how inefficient they have been so far. I can't wait till this month is over so I don't have to deal with this again (hopefully).

After going back to the shop and making a noise with the staff, they got a hold of the manager at Sales and Assurance and sorted my problem out, as I got debited today R200 and its been 4 weeks sitting with a reference number.

And they lied about the first bill as the lady checked and said the first R200 was for inactive sim and not sim activation.

So they crediting me for the 3 months.
