To whom this may concern/be applicable to
I have signed up for the 10gb internet 5 promo over a month ago.
I bought a 8ta 3g modem in store.
After waiting 2 weeks to received my sim card and I had to wait another 2 days for my sim to be activated.
To my disappointment I was able to connect but every time I opened a webpage got redirected to the "Airtime Depleted/ Spend Limit Reached/ Credit Limit Reached" page.
I contacted the customer service and kept being redirected from department to department and it seemed to me that no one there was skilled enough to assist me with my problem.
After about 2 weeks of being in contact with the customer service in which I was being told a number of things which include; the sim is not registered in my name, it's a prepaid sim, the sim is rica'd and it should not be rica'd.
I was finally told that I need to go to a store and buy another sim so that they can connect my data bundle to that sim.
To this day I still cannot use my 8ta 3G.
I posed the question " will my sign up fee of R200 be refunded to me if I have to buy a sim out of my pocket again?" to which she could not answer me. If I do this i expect that this money will be refunded to me without question.
I will buy another sim and if this problem still doesn't get resolved within the next month I will cancel this service and want a refund on all the money I've spent on a modem etc.
I also seen the thread of the 10gb promo not working on MTN supported 8ta coverage but on there website it show's that my area has full 3G coverage. It does not mention anything or give a option to show only MTN supported 8ta coverage on the map. If this is the case, it is false advertising and everyone having been misled by this that signed up for this service should sue 8ta.
