Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. I got the 8ta 2+1 gig promo, was assured I had coverage (Kyalami) and even got a Poynting booster. In December suddenly the kbps starting fluctuating wildly, like from 0.00 kbps tp 300Kbps tp 10 to 30 etc in SECONDS! After complaining, seriously shocking service, hellopeter etc etc a technician came around two weeks ago. Nice guy, did the speedtests etc and Murphy had it that on that day it was fine. My signal strength (tower) has always been five bars, it kinda worked since then, albeit pretty random...now all of a sudeen my signal strength bars are non existaent and have problems even loading an e-mail. Could this be the tower? What would cause the signal strength to go from five bars to zero instantaneously and nothing happened to cause it? i.e. no thunderstorm, no rain, no cable damage etc It's just GONE! Can anyone please help?

Thanks

I have similar issues, I have two 8ta contracts (Promo 5's) with 3G routers, they've been working fairly good for several months now, but the last two days, both modems keep disconnecting every couple minutes, and then to reconnect takes several minutes.

I'm considering seeking legal advice now, since this is unacceptable for a business, when both the main, and backup devices keep failing. 8ta cannot be reached for comment, the 081 183 number isn't useful.

First off you are dealing with wireless so it could be many factors interference would do exactly what you are describing,,but to find out if it is actually interference a spectrum analyzer will need to be run at the time you get no connection .
but it could be just the tower has a fault
interference can be generated by many things , machinery ,microwave oven . even a computer could generate interference if it is not shielded properly
very difficult to find the cause with out the proper equipment
