8ta Coverage

Technically, my house does not have 3G coverage, but I get 3G. However, I read this in the T&C's on the 8ta website: "8ta shall not be held responsible for failure to access Internet at locations where 8ta does not have coverage and the service experience may change from time to time.", so now I am doubting whether I should sign up for the 10GB promo, because if it stops working, they won't help me. Can anyone advise me on what I should do?

If you've got coverage, you've got coverage. That's not going to change easily.

I dont have coverage according to their maps. It misses my place by about 1km on the map, but i DO still get 3G signal. I've got "Hot" and "Cold" spots in my house. EG: Bedroom upstairs is great signal, kitchen downstairs is 1-2bar signal... But even when i have low signal, as in 1bar, i still klap speeds of 80kbps-170kbps... Good signal i get 150-400kbps even though according to 8ta i dont have coverage...

So then you have coverage, albeit partial coverage. If you're happy with that, sign the contract. 8ta aren't going to take down the tower, so signal won't change over time. If anything it MIGHT improve if they cover your area better.

P.S. forget the map. Go on the actual signal you get.

Lol, wrong person... I already have the contract. I am helping COBOL decide if he wants it or not...

So if u have a problem that requires a network technician to come out to your home, will 8ta help you, or will they hide behind their contract that states that they do not HAVE to help you because according to their map, you have no coverage? Sorry if I'm being annoying by harping on this same point, but I'm trying to cover all my bases before I sign this 2 year contract

If you have signal now, even not on map, I would go ahead - You could always get an external antenna mounted as well

It's 3G, if anything you would take your modem and sim to an 8ta store. I cant think of a scenario where a technician would need to come out...

P.S. Dont say sorry, it's good to cover all your bases before entering a contract :)
