8ta iPad data deals reinstated

can you get the ipad as well from them?.

No, mobile operators aren't allowed to sell the iPad. EDIT: Or specifically, from what I've been told, they're not allowed to offer them on contracts.

Bought a 1GB package in July off this deal - used my 1GB and they never capped me. Now I have free mobile internet on my iPad:D

Why Jan?

Can't you get 2gb+1gb normal prepaid data for R149 from them? So who would go pay R299 for 3gb?

The 2gb+1gb prepaid data plus the 10gb 2yr contract special is run purely on the 8ta network whereas all the other prepaids 8ta uses the MTN network to roam on and that is why it costs more.

Thanks, Jan, will be interesting to see an "official" reason.

I could write up the comment I have from MTN already... but let me see what else I can rustle up :-) Apple, of course, won't say a thing.

Is 8ta the only operator offering iPad data? I can't find any information that other operators are offering iPad data plans. On iTunes's website they state that you have to go through 8ta to get iPad data.

I bought my iPad 2 in Copenhagen and if I understand correctly 8ta only provides data plans for locally bought iPads - is there a reason for this? How can I get a data plan then?

The reason is that Core doesn't want to support other people's grey imports. That said, I'm sure that if you can prove that you bought the device at an official Apple reseller they'll help you out.
