8ta sim 65502

Hi, so i thought i would give a 8ta prepaid sim card a try in my iphone 4(i cut it to size) now where it shows which network it is on it says 65502??? This is weird what does it mean?
 
I see i can also connect to MTN's network, which would be the best to connect to?
 
If it's a prepaid SIM then you can try to connect. Should you get charged for ridiculous amounts, you'll just run out of airtime quicker.

If it's a contract, then things will start to get iffy. Best not to gamble with a contract SIM then...
 
Yes 65502 is Telkom's own tower. I won't know for sure but I think its way faster MTN cause it won't be serving as many people as the MTN tower would.

BTW I'm actually surprised that you can connect to telkom towers with your 8.ta sim since I can't and I have a telkom tower close by.

You would not be charged extra when using MTN towers. MTN and Tellkom has a roaming agreement. So Telkom pays MTN not you. You are using 8.ta so you should not expect any other charges.
 
Well its kinda cool cause i can use 2 networks with one simcard haha if the one is bad switch to another one

:) Yes it is. But I still want to know how you connected. Hmmm. What area are you connecting to 65502?

Maybe 8.ta finally allows connection to Telkom mobile towers.....
