i've been struggling to make this decision since the start of the year. currently on that 30gb 1mb line with telkom. constant access to news server at 104KB/s so thats fine. the R550 im paying however is not. i usually go over that and have to pay in. uncapped with telkom for 1mb will cost R800 which is to much. i have been testing the mweb uncapped this week but performance on their news server leaves much to be desired.
i have in the meantime loaded up the 2+1 deal from 8ta. speed ranges from 175KB/s to 270KB/s so the news server access flies. with the convenience of it being prepaid it appears to be a good deal. i would get the 60+60 though. although the minight surfer is bloody inconvenient to utilize. dont utilize those hours. so then i would need to schedule the downloads, something i havent explored yet but im sure sabnzbd is capable.
if i stay with telkom then i would go 384KB/s uncapped which costs R511 but then my speed would drop down to 40KB/s. i think the only reason im reluctant to cancel telkom is the wait to get back onto adsl if i decide to do so in the future. im leaning towards the 60+60 speedwise but being with telkom has its advantages.
so what would you do?
