8ta wrongly suspends my sim card service [resolved]

1. Go stand (with your screaming child) in an 8ta shop and refuse to leave until they sort out the mess.
2. Use alternative contact methods. You should not rely on a cellphone as your primary (and only) means of communication if it is for business purposes.

You obviously have far more skill with these things than I do..but hey you must just be more chilled.

Ah I really wished I had thought more about getting a landline....Telkom! just give such great service!!! that would surely have sorted all my problems out.
if you only had one an inkling of the hell I get from Telkom adsl.
I am very surprised how you seem to be standing up for these companies when they deliver such dereadful service...very suspicious

If you had posted this in the Cell C, Vodacom or MTN threads I would have posted exactly the same thing. You cannot rely on a single telecoms supplier for a business related communications link.

ok just want to update all interested parties that i has taken just over 4 hours of me shouting on this forum and the problem has been sorted and they have given me R300 compensation.
I dont feel at all happy...why does it take me to come and complain here to get a problem resolved when the 8ta customer support line has done nothing for 2+ weeks.(they dont advertise this forum on their 8ta support so why should you know that its best to come here???)
Are these support people just trawling through here because this goes out publicly and shows them up more ,where as the call line number is just beween you and them.
It really makes me wonder who this site is primarily for and who has taken over it for their own publicity??????
Now I got to go and apologise to missed messages and make up for the past 2 weeks!

May I just add something. I know how frustrating it can be getting something sorted and getting what you paid for trust me I know. Its just a mistake and you happen to be the customer it happened too.

It happens to all the other networks. So its not really 8ta specific so if some post on mybroadband that 8ta suck or they steal my money it kinda gets me worked up cause accidents happen.

I have had nothing but good times with 8ta not to mention the suburb blackbbery services that is far superior to the other networks.

how can you say its not 8ta specific. My service is with 8ta and I went with them cause in their advertising they tried to portray the huge advantage in getting free minutes....well sorry but that ended up no advantage to me as they disconnected me for 2+ weeks with no support.
maybe other companies are the same but i never implied that they were better just that 8ta sucked for me these last 2+ weeks...and the fact that someone has good service is not the issue. The issue that people should know about is their poor service.
Would you be happy if Eskom had your electric off for 2 + weeks and then someone came and said but i have always had good service from them ...no you dont want to know about what should be taken for granted in a service industry you want to know about their poor service and non delivery of stated buisness.
South Africa has got a long long way to go in the field of providing good service and people are far to happy to live with that poor service and the big shot companies, fat cats, scammers etc know it all too well and by the people ignoring it makes it harder to change for the good in the long run.

Hi Rene

We have spoken to our Hellopeter team regarding their reply and they advised that the only number you have provided was your contact number and not the number which was not working - hence the response saying that the SIM is active on our systems.

Apologies for the misunderstanding.

Social Media Team

Good Day Rene,

Thank you for your post.

let me assure you it is still NOT WORKING and I cannot register on any network!

If you are just trying to leave positive messages on this thread for others to believe that you have sorted my problem out I will update it constantly with the real time situation that it is NOT WORKING after 2+ week of getting the runaround!

Hi pistolero!

Please advise if there is anything we can maybe assist you with?
