Please please please can anyone give me any good news and tell me if I can take any action on 8ta with any consumer acts please read the post below which i have put on "Hellopeter" This cell phone is my main phone and I am loosing buisness/money/customers.......................

Now I am so angry after around 1 year on a prepaid 8ta sim ,8ta have just taken away my number and given it to "someone" else /suspends it /looses it/who knows what ...they certainly have no idea whats happened!!

Dozens & dozens of calls to their call centre gets nowhere!!!, I had @ 20 minutes of free airtime on the sim @ 2 minutes of paid airtime @ 20mb of Data
The phone was constantly in use, and I was spending money on airtime .

But their call centre just gives me the runaround and passes the buck with my loss of service.

I now understand (apparenly its in the small print)that you have to put some new money airtime on to the sim card every month to keep the sim number otherwise they can take the number away but luckily I have/had actaully done that.

A Sheldon Dixon at the call centre has given me R50 free airtime as compensation BUT I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY SIM WORKING WITH MY NUMBER!! as they still say its suspended!!,Sheldon Dixon says the technical dept is giving him the runaround.I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT I WANT A SERVICE I HAVE PAID FOR AND INVESTED IN BY USING IT IN MY BUISNESS!!!

R50 for them to get rid of a paying customer to give the number to another is an easy way for them to collect new customers.I think I should be paid 10 times that amount for their incompetance, negligence and downright terrible cusomer care
If(?) they have given my number to someone else how does the law effect the fact that I had RICA `ed that number and it has my details on it????

Over 2 weeks now with no service and no one helping, why should I the customer have to make all the running around and follow ups to the call centre!!!!

-how am I protected by consumer rights act anyone?? The only way they are going to buck up their ways is if disgruntled customers takes them to task!

what really gets me annoyed is that 2 months ago I ported over 7 other phones that belong to my family to try and get free minutes on them as well.

How can they run a business like this (A new one too!!!)?? VERY UPSET!
Any help anyone

Hi justustwo!

Please PM or email us so we can investigate this matter for you? We will get to the bottom of this. We will need a contact number for you and the 8ta number(s) you need investigated/unsuspended. We will also look into what was done by the call centre as calls are recorded and every agent has to log every customer interaction.

Regards,
Social Media Team

let me assure you it is still NOT WORKING and I cannot register on any network!

If you are just trying to leave positive messages on this thread for others to believe that you have sorted my problem out I will update it constantly with the real time situation that it is NOT WORKING after 2+ week of getting the runaround!

Can you please confirm that this sim and number has not been transfered to any other person????

hi all still watching this thread still no voice contact from 8ta !!! All they have done isfinally send 2 emails to say they are looking into it.That really helps me!!!!!!!!!!!

when I try and call the number in question it now says "number does not exist"!!!!!

its down to 8ta to supply the service that they advertise and not to STEAL MY MONEY
you may not need your phone but i do thats the only way I have to support my 2 year old daughter!
The more you post and demand them to answer your individual posts, the less time they have to actually sort out your problem...

excuse me but I did not post a thing for over 2 weeks and they have done nothing for me other than give me R50 airtime for a phone I cannot use!
I asked for any help with my problem because I am at wits end and also to show other unfortunate users here that although 8ta may respond very quickly here, they have not done a thing to get my problem any further sorted than they were 2+ weeks ago!

Maybe you can suggest what to put in my daughters stomach!

Yes but I have called 8ta several times everyday for +2 weeks and then someone tells me to chill out.
I have only posted here and "hellopeter" today because they are not doing anything and giving me not even an indication as to when it could be fixed.
My child is screaming her head off ,I have lost so much money and good buisness over the last 2+ weeks maybe you can give me some of your wisdom of what i do if it still not right for another 2+ weeks

1. Go stand (with your screaming child) in an 8ta shop and refuse to leave until they sort out the mess.
2. Use alternative contact methods. You should not rely on a cellphone as your primary (and only) means of communication if it is for business purposes.
