900 postal workers on strike

It snowed? Can you be undeterred by something that didn't happen? And I don't get where they bring the whole apartheid angle into this...

Oh well, it seems striking is very popular this year :p

it did snow, on the mountains.

anyways, who cares - the postal industry is a dying beast anyways.

There's still a postal service?

Cant remember when last i got something in the post.

Strike action was their only option, they could not do a go-slow or work-to-rule

If I send 3 items by post in a year, that's a lot. Tried to send my third one today and it cost me R55.00 to get a letter to Kokstad because I had to use a private courier. It was urgent. Let one of these postal workers come knocking on my door for a "Krismus Box" this year and see what he gets!!!

If it is true that there are salaries based on race - it should be sorted out, thank goodness my e-mail cannot strike.

LOL @ all these strikes. Only in the banana republic of souf afrika! Do they not realize the world is in recession!

how is this any different from their performance on any other normal day of the week?

I dont think so any civalised country has an efficient postal system, I've been using it quite often and send/recive maybe 30-50 parcels a year and its worked well so far.

Anyone know if international deliveries are affected? I have an urgent package from the states. The online tracking shows that it only took them 2 days from Kansas to Kentucky then via Germany to SA. My package is now sitting in Jhb for the last 2 days.
