A car buying scam!

this is a response to a query on a car advertised on gumtree:
Hello

The car is still available for sale, price as stated in the ad R40,000.It's in perfect working order, no damages, it wasn't involved in any accidents.I moved to the UK with my work but I left the car at a shipping company in Johannesburg. All shipping costs and insurance during transportation are included in the price. You will also receive all necessary documents in order to finalize the purchase.Email me back if you're interested and have further questions

2nd response when i asked to for physical check:

The mileage is 40,300
Look how this works:

1. I will contact eBay and give all the info about this deal.
2. They will send us the forms by email - for you about the payment.
3. I will send the vehicle to your location and you will send the payment at eBay.
4. After you will inspect the vehicle and decide to keep it, they will transfer the money into my account.

RETURN POLICY:
If by any reason the vehicle is not as described, or if you find any problems with it I will pay for the returning fees. I'm sure it won't be the case because the vehicle is in excellent condition.
As soon as the vehicle arrives, you will test it and if it does not match 100% to your expectations, you will return it in max. 10 working days since the arrival date.In this case you will send me the vehicle in the same condition you received it.

The estimated time of delivery is 2 to 5 days, with no scratches, it is professionally crated.

Please provide me with your full name and shipping address so I can register the deal with eBay.

IS THIS A SCAM OR WHAT???????????

Nein danke, it smells like a scam.

What if the car the seller sends to you is damaged in any way, or get stolen, and you have to pay for that? No thanks.

Or, you decide not to have the car after inspecting it, and on the way back, it get damaged/stolen/something for which you have to pay?

STAY AWAY.

Also, the seller is in the UK. Highly suspicious.

Yep dude that's a scam as well, the same people sold a brand spanking new 147 2008 model for 40 000 - even gave the wrong cell number as well, and then I reported it, and then this mail with the exact same story of going to the UK and shipping and eBay came up...stay away - looks like Gumtree and Junkmail are full of this nonsense

Great this dumb ass is still out there and still going by the name of "Trevor"

Almost the same story except he's now at Lonmin mine with a truck dropping off equipment and i should meet him in Rustenburg. 200km from where I am.

Also talks of Klerksdorp and coming to meet him at a bank paying me money and then I keep the car for two weeks until he can fetch it.

The cell number he is using at the moment 072 528 8440.

If someone is keen to catch him out go play his game.

Thanks to this thread I won't get scammed :) well at least this time in any case.
