A Dog Situation

Why of Course he will be exited?
He found out that someone had found a dog and is making it out it's his dog
when he get's it back from you, will sell the dog at a premium.
Mark my words

So many cons going on with dogs right now

We had an incident at our place few weeks ago guy comes at 11.00 at night holding a small dog asking if it was ours, still trying to workout that con. When low and behold same guy comes the next night at 7.00 pm asking us if we had seen his dog. Virtually chased the guy and contacted our local COP patrol.
Next week we heard people were stealing puppies from peoples yards and selling them at robots several kilometres away.
As we are sitting with a young Rottie we have stepped up his security and yard access.

Met the chap. Shame he lost the dog while going through a divorce, and was away being treated for depression.

The dog has his partner there, who has been lonely ever since he went missing.

He asked for the dog back, which was quite nice. He didn't just assume it's his and recognized time had passed.

Asked him to please tag the dogs, costs 50 or so bucks and would have avoided this whole mess.

Best outcome? Once the pair have puppies, I have dibs on one :). Also welcome to have him over for weekends so my boy and him can play.

All in all, I think it ended well, although I am heart sore to see him go.

You are a good man well done!

The worst part is that he was told there was a poster up at the local spar, and when he went there management had taken it down, even though we got their permission to put it up.

Please tell the dude to get his dogs fixed there are far too many dogs around for every idiot to be breeding them in their backyards...

Great to hear :) Well not the heartsore bit that sucks, but the rest is good.

A very unexpected update: Dog's owner called me today saying he's battling to control the dog and wants to get a bull terrier rather. Wanted to know if I would take the dog - which I did instantaneously.

So I'm now sitting with my boys reunited, and they couldn't be happier :)

Im happy for you that you got the dog back but WTF? he cant control a pittie so wants to get a bull terrier rather? hahaha- good luck to him!

Good news for you, but it is concerning that an incompetent dog owner is seeking to get another dog to replace one he can't cope with? This is definitely a case of the owner needs training. Good that you got dog back before he ruins it.

Great news for you...

I very much doubt he will be able to control a Bull Terrier either, but that is unfortunately not your problem... or at least it shouldn't be.

Lol, so he goes gets a bull terrier, idiot should have gotten something suitable like a poodle

Yep.

I've got a terrier mix and they need a lot of care / discipline. Owner shouldn't have one if he can't take care of it. I got mine in that way, owners wanted to put the dog down as they had no clue on how to look after it, so I took it on.

Yeah mine is a rescue as well...

When I got him he was a monumental handful.. now he is awesome and people love him... but he gets the right level of discipline and care... (though my hand sometimes wishes the level of discipline wasn't so high)
