A "help me find a laptop" thread again.

No way!

6 months warranty? Packard Bell?

I'd much rather get a brand-new HP, Toshiba or Lenovo.

LOL I agree. I've only had bad experiences with Packard Bell and I think the 6 month warranty is proof that even they know their machines are crap

I bought a notebook a few weeks ago and was considering buying the HP 550 (or Lenovo) from the Laptop Direct website but finally settled on the Dell 1525 from Game. I've already posted the specifications and story behind the price in this thread so not going to repeat it here :) bottom line is I absolutely love it, didn't come with a bag or anything extra but I'm glad as I bought a bag I really wanted, not a cheap bundled one. Also got to test drive it in-store instead of buying unknown online. By the way, if you Google this series you'll see that there are a lot of reviews and most of them are pretty good.

And always important to do the maths on the internet contracts that you take out to save on the cost, typically works out that you pay more in the end, unless you need a internet connection!!! And it came with a 36 month warranty, haven't seen anything close elsewhere.

She wont need a internet contract, wont use that much internet anyway. I think I'll wait and see what's on special this weekend, not that it wil influence my decision but maybe what I need is on special. You never know. Isn't it normally this time of the year when Incredible corruption has their big big sale? Or when is it?

Believe it or not, in the notebook areana, Incredible is cheap.
Good market analysis on their side to know that notebooks are the future, they bought huge bulk and selling cheaper than most
