A late sober October

AAAAAggggghhhh! it's blerrie 39 degrees in the desert, It's bowling club night and I have visitors from outta town...... Today would have been day 17 of no drinking, but I am not going to make sobriety........

My name is MortyMoose and I am a binge drinker.......... :crying:

I haven't had a drink since 22 September. I'm on a fancy new medication, the purpose of which would be obviated by alcohol use. Don't miss it. Although a good beer on a cold beer will always be a delicious notion to me...

Well, as always, my frame of mind improves significantly when about a month passes without any alcohol. Note to self: don't have another drink, ever. For me, it's not worth the toll it takes on my mental well-being.

Started my Octsober last Saturday, before attending a get-together with friends.

Challenges ahead include: our year-end function and a string of birthdays (including my own). The craft beers and single malts are calling out that they've abandoned in the cupboard...

Next challenge: Whisky Live. I've bought a "DD" ticket, although I miiigghhhhtttt grab a christmas prezzie for myself :)

You can do it dude. And, ginger ale with some lime cordial and plenty ice. Very refreshing.

@Kornhole - how are you doing?

Ive taken the month off, its my second one this year. I took January off as well. Don't feel like I drink too much but I feel its a good test of character to be able to say no to booze.

4 weeks of no alcohol has been relatively easy, most difficult part is saying no to someone offering you a beer and then explaining you don't have a problem you just want to take a break.

My old man was an alcoholic, pretty bad actually so I know what signs to look out for.

Only saw this now... will join in for today.

Actually thought I'd leave my tax till I'm sober, so did it last night.

But I needed a few drinks to finish it. Smooth sailing.

Don't think broken is the correct word, I think we are just used to people drinking and anyone who doesn’t has an "issue"

I don't touch shooters. I just don't like them, to be honest. Try drinking beer all night and saying no to countless offers of that horrible poison Jagermeister. Some people even ignore me declining the offer and buy me a jager anyway. Guess what either gets abandoned or thrown over my shoulder...
