A murky picture

For sure, that application and work involved to, err, maintain it, is definitely worth every cent. Now if only my new mce remote would arrive. Been delayed.

Which remote did you get? I saw a new looking one on the Microsoft site, but can't find it anywhere

What really makes me laugh is that UEC are also developing an HD Dualview PVR, surely once they have completed it, MChoice, will just drop pace like they did before
The UEC HD PVR will not be Dualview.

Yeh, over an internet connection... their EPG is currently on their website, and various people 'scrape' the information.

Can you point me in a direction to get access to this 'scraped' info?

Thanks, Ken

The whole series recording thing was basically removed because the Pace decoders can't support it! The UEC models are fully capable if Multichoice decide to actually utilise it.

The whole deal with these crappy Pace boxes is that they "had" HD boxes available whereas UEC still were developing the box. So they went with Pace for the Olympics even though the box that Pace had was just a rebranded shoebox ...

Now the problem is that whereas the UEC engineers are quite good at sorting bugs out, well, the Pace boxes aren't their product hence they aren't going to debug it. So yeah .. that how it goes. Sad huh :(

No. Series recording was removed from the beta software on the SDPVR because it did not work right.

We would have had exactly the same problem had the UEC HD decoder been released first because the UEC and PACE boxes run exactly the same software.

The HD decoder can't do anything yet because the software had to be done from scratch and they did not have time before to olympics to get anything worthwhile done.

As for the prowess of the UEC coders, do I need to remind you it took them over two years to give us a series recording feature which did not work correctly?
