notice how none of the vodacom ppl will reply at all to this thread
I was on a Talk 500 contract back in 2007/2008 and I lost a LOT of bundled minutes due to this lame policy. Was it always that way?
a reply would be fantastic vodacom reps....
If a person incurs a debt in 2010, and then incurs another in 2011 (with the same company) and then pays say R100 the Company will allocate the payment to the oldest debt first, yet Vod are doing it the other way around.
I have the 2gig + 2gig contract, last month I bought an extra 1,5gig thinking I could use in Oct and Nov and carry over any unused portion of my Nov 2gig to Dec. In Nov the buggers switched my data usage from the 1.5gig to the 2gig, the implication being that I had to use all of the 2gig allocation before I could get back to the balance of my 1.5gig. This morning I needed to check how much of my bundle was left seeing as I am going to loose somewhere in the region of 250 MB, fat chance!!! do you think I can see how much data I have left at Vodacom. They want me to overuse so that they can apply OOB rates.....SHAME ON YOU VODACOM, but lets not forget what is happening in the USA due to the immoral acts of the Bankers, so my challenge to you Vodacom is:- "You know what is happening here and why, do you have the moral fibre to do what is right rather than following a course that is probably legal but ethically questionable ....well DO YOU??
What we must do (if Vod do not respond to this thread) is flood ICASA with complaints, as South Africans we are far to complacent and that why we get ripped off.
Remember, when you're in contract you must first fulfill your contractual obligation. Thus we MUST first give you your monthly allocation before any rollover from the revious month can take place.
It's as simple as that. No need for complex conspiracy theories.
You're wrong, actually. Think a bit about it and it'll make sense. That is the Vodacom interpretation. Another interpretation is that Vodacom must first fulfill its contractual obligation to allow a user to use data paid for but unused from a previous month. The first in, first out principle is well known in the business world, why must Vodacom decide which data must be used first?
Also, the contractual obligation from Vodacom is to GIVE the data. USING the data is up to the user. The current situation is not fair, and it is just not defendable.
Merely adding new data for the month (contract or purchase) to the previous balance also makes for a much simpler billing system.
Hmm. From the prepaid options page on the Vodacom Mozambique website.
"The validity of MB accumulates according to the rule of greatest benefit to the customer."
I think this is basically what we want.
