A simpler and faster Vodacom planned

When a company runs out of ideas... it restructures.

Guess this means it will now be simpler and faster to get vodaconned

TFFCC! (Thank Fork for Cell C!) :D:cool:

I think Big Brother will start to put the screws on the SA operation. Whether we will see prices like in the UK is doubtful. Vodafone must be enjoying this "cash cow" they acquired.

No big company successfully restructures overnight... expect to see the current monthly rates for months to come.

You'd be surprised how quickly companies can turn when competition arrives. It can literally happen overnight, as they often develop contingency plans in advance. You can and do see cases where the competition of a company announces price cuts, and literally the very next day that company also announces cuts (though that's often coordinated price-fixing for public display - you can't always tell the difference). You're right we can expect the current rates for months to come, but that's only because the price fixing cartel situation remains, not because of any inherent difficulty dropping one's prices.

How about starting with a simpler and faster website?

Well arent we a cynical bunch...

Anyways this restructure hasnt happend overnight, do yourself a favour and think about when you first started seeing a vodafone logo... about 3 yrs ago when the first 3G dongles were becoming popular...

Also have a look at the vodafone.nz site and you see that Vodacom`s website, which has been up for about a year now is identical except for the colour.. So thats a year ago already that they started bring in in the vodafone look and feel, we just didnt know it.

Anyways, the Cell C 3G deal is epic and you cannot beat the price, but i have had a horrible experience with them in the past in relation to their customer service or lack thereof i should say.

Vodacom needs to simplify their product offering and bring it back inline with the market they are looking to serve, i personally am glad that they are doing this and look forward to the improvements...

If not then i will tell Trevor... Not that he did anything about it.....

Cynicism has zilch to do with overpriced products and bad customer service.

Simpler and quicker but by no means cheaper. I wonder how much they wasted on this rebranding nonsense.

What improvements? They haven't announced any improvements, just meaningless feel-good rhetoric about "increasing value" (which is actually a synonym for 'we intend to keep prices the same') and vague empty promises that we've heard before.

"Uys seems to be putting his money where his mouth is, and has moved out of his plush office and is now residing on a humble desk in an open office to ensure that he is in touch with what is happening ‘on the ground’"
Now here is someone I can work for!
People in high positions often (most of the time, actually) dont know what is happening in their companies!
