Cool. Just asking as I have never seen my grid and load go into the negatives on Solar Assistant.
Valid point, that said, i dont think i ever saw it do that on sunsynk connect?, could be wrong though

I might be wrong, but something looks weird in that graph. Did they install your CT coil the correct way around?

Fixed, i set solar assit to "auto detect" if the ct clamp is installed, and now it shows correctly :)

Only thing off putting about Solar Assistant is that it needs a Raspberry Pi. Now I was fortunate enough to own one of the 30ish Pi4s that were produced globally, but I have since sold it.

Stats for last week, with one cloudy day (12th) an one Eskom free day (13th). Reduced Eskom usage from the 11th onwards was due to being home alone,so less geyser / fans / water pumps / filtration.
Computer toys still eat a large chunk of electricity, but such is life

Two weeks now (13th to now) of only solar power - except for the pool pump that uses 1.5kWh each day (750watt x 2 hours) and last Friday (20th) I had the solar geyser use 3 hours of eksdom power as it was a very cloudy day. Same weather today but I hope we make it.

The plumber I had said I shouldn't run the temp so hot all the time and recommend I rather keep it at 55 to extend the life of some of the components.

So now I have the blocks set to 45 - 45 - 55 - 55 and I do a weekly run to 65 to super kill any potential bacteria although the solar regularly gets the water up to 60 regardless on warm days.

I had it on 60 for 10 years until the old geyser blew up earlier this year. It was a fibreglass one. Now it is a copper one and I have seen it go into the 70s on sunny days. Since my daughter likes to bath and my wife and I shower we do use a lot of hot water.
 
Sometimes my inverter does not update the Luxpower servers. Like last night updates stopped just after 21:00. This morning @ 8 when I wanted to check SOC I saw the app had no recent updates. Unplugging the dongle and re-plugging it solves the issue, but the missing history is obviously lost.

Because of that my most reliable inverter monitoring source/log stays Home Assistant as the inverter dongle has the ability to run a separate MQTT server, and I have the integration in HA talking to that.

The only drawback is that the 'pretty' picture in the HA energy dashboard shows accumulations, not current / instantaneous figures. That said, there is a card built on top of the Luxpower integration that mimics the Luxpower time-based graph. So far I've just been to lazy to set it up.

I've set the inverter to start charging the batteries when SOC reaches 30% and to stop when batteries reaches 45% SOC. Charge rate is set to 10amps. This way I try not to go into sunshine with full(ish) batteries

EDIT: This post took half a day to happen ;-) Work / Openserve install...
 
Ran my 3d printer over night to see what an impact it would have on my setup, my SOC was 2% lower than on an average day, not too bad

today, everything is running, and the panels are just lapping up the sunny goodness :)

Does anyone know what software I can use to talk to the BMS in my Volta Stage 4? The normal TopBMS of the Stage 1 does not work.
