guessing this is all in HA?
 
Water was so hot from yesterday that geyser did not need to run and batteries were over 50% this morning.
Fired up geyser at 10:00 but still got to 99% by 11:05, now fired up geyser one more time.
(I really need to automate it)
My stupid pool pump died so hopefully I can use more afterwords.

We have a solar geyser and it was above 70 yesterday for the first time since March.

Had to turn the temps down on the geyser was was getting too hot. would be intreseting to see what 10 degrees saves me.

I also just run the geyser for 2 hours every day off Solar peak with CBI Astute.

the KellerZA route will still require a mini pc of sorts, my HA runs in a docker container, and i would have to move the whole thing to the garage where the Inverter is,

Think i may just as well go the solar-assist route, i use it at work to monitor the inverter used as a ups on our servers

Any one perhaps have a lead on a good (Cheap) pi? :D

I am using lxp-bridge to bring the inverter stats into Home-Assistant.

Not sure whether solar-assistant will allow me to change charge cycles and conditions on the LuxPower.

Anybody who knows?

I have 10m cable from inverter to usb to RS 485 device which is then connected to old Raspberry PI which is then connected to network.
Old pi runs modbusd.

What dongle do you have?
 
I'm pretty excited today because there is a chance my solar guy is coming through to our sea house to put in a proper 6 panel 5kW setup. Brought Little Bertha from home as she will be doing battery duty here. This is a much bigger house than my cramped-in-the-middle-triplex in Stellenbosch so the plan is to add 1 or 2 more Volta Stage 1 batteries in time.

There is North facing roof space for 8 panels but you gotta start somewhere so 6 will do for now. Shadows will be a problem but again not as bad as back home. We also have a couple of West and East facing roofs and a long flat one.
