The thing is that people feel that you're being 'snarky' when they share their lived experiences with you ie after many years of using an iPhone there are things that iPhone users just shrug off and move along with since those things are irrelevant in our context, and you then dismiss their feedback/input with an obviously Android-centric response.I’m not sure asking things like ‘can these mails be deleted’ , ‘why do I get video stutter’ or ‘is there a way to properly share’ is really trolling?
Likewise, the ‘advice’ (or rather workarounds to the limitations) isn’t always a satisfactory answers.
In my opening post I mentioned that my old Face ID had the option of direct to phone or unlock screen, so it was a pity that Apple didn’t have. The reply was posts long about the workflow and Apple was right in what they were doing. I need to adjust or leave the ecosystem.
Really? Can’t just say that it can’t be done?
iMessage is a good example - when I first switched it irritated me no end (for about 3 days) then I realised that hardly anyone in SA uses iMessage, even other iPhone users since there are simply too many non-iPhone users to make it a useful messaging platform compared to Whatsapp in South Africa.
Once Apple introduced the feature to filter SMS out using the "Unknown" switch (as explained in one of the earliest posts in this thread), it became a genuine non-issue since all the 'spam' sms is now sitting under Unknown and separated from known users/iMessages. It's also very convenient that if you iMessage someone who doesn't have an iPhone it automatically converts it into an SMS on their side.
