A5 jailbreak released

What's the difference between Cydia and Installous?

Should Appsync be on my springboard after installing it via Cydia? It's not.

What file manager for Windows works? Since iOS 5 the two I used before doesn't work anymore.

I need to copy files from my PC to the iDOS folders.

Excellent, I'm already using winSCP in fact.

Good stuff. Then all you need to do is install openssh, toggle ssh on in sbsettings and create the wireless link between iDevice and pc. Better to use a fixed ip address on your iDevices if you not already, not essential but obviously more user friendly using winSCP...

I have rejoined the JB club. Had to go back to a 2 month old backup to because I was running 5.1 beta on my iPhone. You can't restore a newer iOS backup onto an older version.

iPad 2 was a bit of a pain. First time after waiting what felt like forever for the sync, the absinthe icon would load the page, but not do anything. I discovered second time around it was much quicker to do a fresh restore to 5.0.1, set it up as a new device, JB with absinthe and only then restore from backup. That way there is a lot less for it to copy to your hard drive and copy back.

Cydia is the primary repository for ALL your jailbreaking resources. Installous is one of the resources you can get through Cydia. Appsync will not be visible anywhere. It's in the background doing its thang.

Ok - must be an iPhone specific thing. :o

Yes only iPhone re Apple did not include the weather or stock app on the iPhone -- another thing that makes no sense (btw that sentiment counts for the calculator as well)

Did not include it on the iPad do you mean?

Yes for some unknown reason these Apple apps are not available on the iPad, and you cannot download them as they are core iOS apps.

This proves that Apple's decision to not include these Apps makes no sense.

Perhaps. I've often been reaching for the calculator on my iPad but stocks and weather is a waste of ram. Clock as well with alarm clock I would have thought would be mandatory...
