A5 jailbreak released

I do have infinidock installed, however removing it removed one of the few benefits I enjoyed about JB.

I'm not saying it is the cause, except that it could be.
I don't have the problem -- FYI only have sbsettings installed.

Back to vanilla iOS5.0.1 and my battery life seems to have returned to pre-JB performance.

Oh when you restore setup as a new device. Critical!!!

Why?

Anyone notice an increase in performance on the iPad 2 after the jailbreak? Don't know if it's just my imagination but safari tends to allow a lot more tabs before it starts reloading the oldest ones.

Did you restore from backup or setup as new device?

Did you monitor it overnight and how was it?

You've seen how easy jailbreaking and restoring is, are you going to jailbreak it again?

I have no idea but it has been widely touted as a means to improve battery life IF you experiencing significant battery drain.

I just clicked on the restore button, after it downloaded 5.0.1 (presumably because the 5.0-5.0.1 update was incremental ota) and loaded that I restored my data from an earlier backup.

Sure, the jb was a pretty simple process but it didn't really give me anything I absolutely needed so we'll see. ;)

I have just come to the conclusion that FakeClockUp is not as good as Speed Intensifier. I decided to try out Speed Intensifier and also installed the Speed Intensifier addon for winterboard. Wow, what a difference this has made to my phone.

Speed Intensifier + Speed Intensifier addon = amazing!

Not only are the animations faster (as with fakeclockup), but the speed intensifier addon actually overclocks your iphone. The author claims that the Speed Intensifier Addon removes the limitation set by apple for the CPU (to reduce battery drain). I must say that since last night, I have noticed a tremendous performance difference with this addon. I also have not noticed the battery drain quicker than it normally would. I am very happy with this combo more than fakeclockup.

I recommend you guys give it a try and see how it works for you.

Speed Intensifier crashed my device the last time I tried it (years ago). Also not so comfortable with an actual over clock.... You running it on a 4 or 4s?

Im running it on a 4, I have not had a single crash since installing it. The overclock is not extreme, does not cause overheating issues, or battery drain from my experience. But I can tell there is a difference in loading times for apps. I'm gonna stick with this for the time being and see how it goes. I much prefer it.

I have a iphone 4s, which I would like to jailbreak. However I am cautious to pursue this as I don't want the phone to be locked. I got the phone from MTN here in South Africa, and am I correct in saying that iphones imported to this country are factory unlocked?

Top tip for 3G owners. Install queryUSSD from cydia to check data balances etc.

Device : Iphone 4 (16gb).

Can I unjailbreak an iphone running 5.0.1 (9A405). I don't mind losing any information on the device!
