A5 jailbreak released

Upgrade to 5.1.1 and JB with absinthe2

Device : Iphone 4 (16gb).

Can I unjailbreak an iphone running 5.0.1 (9A405). I don't mind losing any information on the device!

Yes. Provided you have your blobs saved. Download the 5.0.1 ipsw and ifaith 1.4.2 and you good to go. Follow the on screen instructions and manufacturer a stitched 5.0.1 ipsw which you will use to manually reinstall a fresh version of 5.0.1 minus jailbreak.

Thanks sand_man,

1. What is a blob? Where do I find it?
2. I purchased the phone today, and it was jailbroken.

I want to take it off. Can it then be done?

If you want to remove the jailbreak you may as well go with latest iOS 5.1.1 in which case fresh install will do the job.

iPhone 4 (GSM): 5.1.1 (build 9B208),

You need the above version. Download the ipsw and try manually restore.

Itunes downloads the upgrade, then tells me the hardware version is incompatible. :(

Could be an issue over at apple if itunes is returning hardware version incompatibility message for a firmware restore that it initiated. Maybe wait a day or 2 as that doesn't sound normal.

The only reason you need to jailbreak. Boss.ios theme by FIF7Y. LS weather widget by Larke and SB weather widget by Max_pa1n.
