AARTO declared invalid and unconstitutional

Of course, that goes without saying..

But it does mean that Aarto is pretty much delayed again, for at least another 3 years I reckon. So it will hit 25 years from first being promulgated before it even vaguely will see any implementation beyond JHB and Tshwane... that has to be a record for government incompetence really.

They have to blow some of that WMC that is burning their pockets.

They have been trying for about 15 years to get this going in Pretoria and it's failed every time. No idea why they keep pushing this stupid idea. Does this mean AARTO fines are declared invalid again?

Proven once more that democracy just doesn't work in Africa. They pretend they want it, but the leaders can't compete on merit so they never implement it.

It wasn't really implemented in PTA and JHB either, it sort of was, I mean sort of
 
LOL I had a good laugh, all that energy and time on implementing this demerit system wasted. We have bigger fish to fry minister of transport . Please focus efforts on fixing the trains and roads.

Maybe I should clarify my post.

I was not complaining that OUTA is going to be paid. My point was that government doesn't care that they are dragged to court by organizations which have a clear case becuase it is not "their" money they are wasting.
If they listened to OUTA from the start, the court case could have been avoided, but "NO!". Hard headed.

There are many other examples.

So I am not happy that our money is being wasted on things which is clear cannot be properly defended.

Time ministers are held accountable for money so wasted. Especially if a Law is passed which they pushed through and it ended up being thrown out by a court of law. Make THEM pay then. Maybe they will start thinking more about their stupid actions as it could affect them personally. (Just like each of our actions we do every day affects us personally).

Do ministers not have lawyers guiding them when implementing new regulations?

Why bother pushing for these regulations ?

They do, law is a complicated thing, what would you say if they appeal and win?

But usually the arrogance doesn't help and can make one exercise bad judgment.
