...doesn't know
Um... Yes, so reading the book lets you understand the basics of maths and all other things in life. But that's education... Hence why the SA IQ is so low, we have a poor education system. Books don't make you intelligent, I mean, if they did then I must have read a lot of books... However, what books do is give your mind something to grasp, something to understand. It's a very well known fact that when someone understands something, they can always come back to it when the raw information is lost, but you can sit down and go over it... You giving yourself something to understand, and understanding is linked to IQ because a higher IQ should mean someone understands things more intuitively, or spend less time on grasping the work. It's the same with EQ (emotional quotient), are you going to argue that this is in books too!?
Yes, a person who is educated will score better, but they don't ask you what the string theory is and prove it mathematically in an IQ test. It's usually simple things like pythag's theory, and a lot of things where you have to understand simple things and reorder them in your mind, which is a good indicator of intelligence because people whom are mentally dull will struggle to draw links and reconfigure the information that is supplied, and then generate the answer from that, thus will take longer or not understand the question/give wrong answer.
It's not in the books you silly man
, books are a tool for education, not a holy grail for intelligence
