Helping a family member out here. I don't use ABSA so I don't know.
When making payments online or using the app, ABSA sends a verification to a primary device to authorize the transaction. This person always makes payments to usual beneficiaries and the authorization thing never comes up when paying people that has been paid before.
Last night we added a new beneficiary to the online profile which added successfully. Then upon trying to pay this new beneficiary, it supposedly sends an authorizing request to the registered phone. However, this never came through, tried a thousand times and still nothing appears on the phone to authorize. Its an iPhone 6. If the app is closed, a pop-up notification appears, but once you tap on it, it opens the ABSA app and nothing to authorize.
If the app is open, no notification comes up at all. I really don't know what else to do.
The device is listed as the authorizing device in the app.
The setting is also enabled in the app for push notifications.
Anyone else experience similar? Or was the system just down last night?
