Absa banking app finally ready?

Absa, South Africa’s largest bank by client numbers, says it is close to launching its banking application for smartphones.

Didn't ABSA retrench/fire their IT staff like last year? It was one of those under cover things, where ABSA denied they were retrenching , yet walked people out of the building with security guards..... I suppose it's no coincidence that since that fiasco, ABSA has been dragging their feet (and going backwards) with any IT related features, like Travel Insurance and even Personal Loans, all suddenly you need to do it on the phone or go into a branch.

Well what did you expect of a dinosaur bank such as ABSA.
They likely got someone in who was the lowest bidder and who had no experience and writes bad code.

*Think I overheard at a braai that all their IT stuff is now being handled by Barclays. So it makes sense why ABSA wanted to get rid of everyone. Barclays told them to fire everyone, cos they will be handling things in the future.

So now if you want something done, you must put in request to Barclays in UK, then they look at it and approve, etc.

not really... try find skilled ios developers... we've had to hire from Seattle to complement our team
