Absa down - they don't know when it will be back up

Logged in this morning to make a payment and got "Internet Banking system upgrade in progress. Please try again later."

A sidebar notice says "Please note that the Internet Banking service is not be available due to system enhancements. We suggest that you process your transactions in advance."

Note the Nigerian grammar. Also, the useful suggestion.

Called the Help(less) Desk where a highly trained individual answered my questions about resuming service in monosyllables - bottom line, don't know, don't care.

Yup! Tried twice, same story; "try later!" No fixed or estimate time...freaks me out cause, same pr!ck$! If you're late with owing them would hesitate to slap you with a fine for late payment!
 
From what I gather, the IT department of Absa are really useless, my father always complains about something that has gone wrong on their site..
