Absa e-statements e-mailed to wrong people

Happened to me a few months ago. Received somebody else's statement. Couldn't understand why my id number wouldn't open it.

:wtf: erm... And you are still banking with them? Unless you are called John Smith, it is fairly easy to find an ID number online.

Just have a credit card with them. I only keep it because they have the best travel insurance.

Is there a bank with IT systems worse than Blapsa Barclays?

Wonder if he gets paid for the use of the word problem :D

The other day I was browsing through Absa's internet banking and noticed that I had a secondary e-mail address set up as [email protected] (or was it 3?).
Wonder if all my bank statements went to that address as well?

For a bit of fun, being pedantic for a change

Looks like ABSA is not following ITIL - If I drafted this notification, i would have substituted the word "problem" with "issue". Has a problem record been opened, after the creation of multiple related incidents, or are all their customers being "fobbed off" with a single incident ticket with the hope that this blows over by next week. (After all, monday is a holiday)

If I recieved the email, I would want the Assurance that a RCA will be conducted at least, once the problem has been resolved.

Yea.. fired all the IT contractors... now there are these issues (website offline, random crap).. Noice!!

ABSA= ABSOLUTELY BONKERS SERVICE AVAILABLE

I tried telling my sister that this bank is a s%&*@y bank but she is too comfortable to change.

Well we will quickly see now how far ABSA is with their POPI compliance. But the situation is ridiculous -- for all those people that were affected by online fraud were ABSA denied responsibility/accountability I would file suit pretty much immediately and have this as "Exhibit 1".

STD bank e- statements open with a unique password you set on the internet banking portal. Using an ID number is just silly.
