Absa unveils banking app

Its about time, remember getting my first android phone November last year and searching for an hour for the ABSA app convinced it was me being retarded because how could one of the largest banks in SA possibly NOT have an app yet...

there should be a 'look who entered the previous decade' category for 'news' like this

It only asks for a PIN before allowing you in. No password challenge.

How secure is that?

Don't bank with ABSA but went to see what the app looks like in the App Store.

No iPhone 5 support...

What is up with SA devs? Very few SA apps have iPhone 5 support.

Congrats. Late, but at least they have an app now.

Runs fine on the iPhone 5, just has the black borders above and below because it hasnt been adjusted for the bigger screen size

I got "Connection lost" multiple times after trying to log in. And then I have to enter the account details again. At least they had the decency to mark the fields as numeric to save you the trouble of switching to the numeric keypad on the iOS version.

What surprises me is how many people on this forum are still baking with ABSA... ;)

Ewww probably the ugliest and most unuserfriendly iOs app available in the App Store.

What shocks me is within 2 minutes of opening it I could list 10
Small things they could've done differently to make it better. Very disappointed Absa.

Major fail because no Blackberry version. Vodacom indicated that Blackberry devices on its network outnumber Apple and Android by several factors.

Lets hear what the issues are

A serious fail from Absa - how can you ignore that the majority of phones in SA are blackberry devices.
