Nothing reported, guess we wait until Afrihost makes an announcement for them to notice - unless afrihost are one of the hosts that have lifetime licenses
Yeah was looking at a rough percentage figure to see how much this will really affect the landscape.

I'm uncertain whether the current pricing on domains.co.za is the new pricing? I was looking at them recently and can't remember if it's gone up at all.

You sure you have that correct? The actual end hosting prices and not the cpanel increases.

I can see how this will affect resellers negatively, but if you are an end user there's never been a better time to get a VPS instead of shared hosting, and then get your hands dirty with SSH and the Linux CLI.

Much the same as VMWare's license model change a few years ago
Everybody wows and sells you on the greatness of super dense resourcing and cost savings thereof thanks to fantastic scaling,then realizing they can squeeze better profits by - rather than adding features and bolt-ons that people would want and be happy to pay for - change to a ridiculous per x model that punishes these exact customers
Microsoft did the same with their CRM licensing recently,and the falling numbers on their customer base show it

$0.20 or $0.10 per additional account if you have more than 1780 seems fair for something companies have built entire businesses around. Not great how they phased in the plan but it’s hardly absurd.

Open source these days has become a base product with just enough features to garner interest and then bolt on licensing at a considerable premium should you actually want a decent product. These days most companies have subscription based licensing.
