AC Ryan Playon HD!

is it possible to run windows on these players?

sorry dumb question I know, but i'm writing media player software and would like to purchase a RyanHD if it can?

Why would you want to ruin the player by putting Windows crap on it?

because my Player has 3000 Real Radio stations, incl 5fm, 94.7 and so on...

because my Player will have Emulator support, like mame and Super NES

it will also plays absolutely ANYTHING since it's codec can be updated at any time

I also like the way my own media centre works, since i bladdy designed it :D :D

I just need a nice looking Box containing the Hardware, and a remote control :(

Edit: Plus I can play oldish PC Games on it too hehe

My home theatre system through which my media player plays has those already...

Not necessary on my media player as games are played on gaming consoles or the numerous computers.

I bought mine with all that ;)

Lance - it's a personal project I Am working on.

I am sure You like the Ryan Software - I just wanted to know whether it CAN, not if anyone *should*

If it can't it can't - no problem. I just thought these things are basically a PC as i've heard about people using Yamj with them, and yamj can be used with xbmc? (AFAIK...lol)

A media player that could play mame games would be a bonus of note, but would you be able to plug a controller into a media player? I love old arcade games! :)

They are basically a computer but I think the problem lies with the memory available etc. I ain't no expert but I'd assume a windows based OS would need more.

emulation doesn't require a lot though - only a few games here and there.
I was thinking of using a stripped down version of XP.

If you do find out it IS possible, please PM with the specs (RAM, CPU)

Thanks for the info.

Yes.
I'm actually adding support for UI control with a joypad alone, if you don't have a remote control, mouse or keyboard.

Can someone please help me clear something up. Are firmware releases linked to YAMJ? For example:

The last YAMJ release was [BETA] firmware version r3643 + YAMJ 6th Release. Does that mean I can't use firmware [BETA] PV73100 r4318 with YAMJ?

There should be compatibility with the new firmware releases so i wouldn't stress too much, also its not too hard to downgrade your firmware

A question about the PPPoE settings on the network setup screen. Why are these needed? If your router already establishes a PPPoE session then can you leave that out? Would leaving them out result in any lost network functionality?
