AC Ryan Playon HD!

I've been messing around with Thumbgen and TViXiE2Playon!HD and I am loving the results!

Apologies for the image quality. Have never got the knack of taking photos of TV screens! :)

You scroll through your movies on the lower DVD cover images and as you do so the full info sheet appears at the top of the screen. To play you just press enter and away you go.

It is a bit of a mission unfortunately. I used Thumbgen and TViXiE. Unfortunately there is not just one program that does it.

The trouble is that you more or less have to read from the end as improvements are made to the program as the thread develops. I would love to simplify the process and explain it to you but I more or less used trial and error.


And yip, you access it via the jukebox icon on the front screen as you would YAMJ.

Thanks lance, don't you find the jukebox takes a long time to load though?
In the options section for tvixie it does not list the AC Ryan unit, did you use the mede8tor?

It does take a while to load. A few seconds I suppose but while you are waiting it seems a lot longer.

What I do now that I have set it up is just leave the ACRyan with the jukebox open and then change channels to watch TV or switch the TV off. when you switch it back on the jukebox is there waiting for you.

There is a guide to using an RSS jukebox which apparently loads quicker but I have not tackled that one yet... :D

so the DVR would not be able to record any DSTV channels?
So for what would you be able to use the DVR?
 
Will there not be issues with the encryption on the output from the DSTV? Macrovision or something like it?
