Acer 24" or Samsung 22"

Which one should I choose? I want it to last a while, seeing the 24" is full HD as well...

Now, Samsung always seem to have the best colour etc. but which one should I choose? I would really like a 24" though...
Is the Acer colour quality bad?

EDIT: also, whats important in a good moniter? What are Nits and Contrast ratios?

Yes bigger is better.

Must say I love my 2ms Samsung 22" ,but if the 5ms is not going to be a problem in games I would go for the 24"

If you have the money the 24" is the one to get

The 2232GW should retail for about R2734, not R3299

Acer... I'm not happy with Samsung service... I had my monitor for one and a half weeks, and its been in repairs since March.

Yup... had some serious backlight bleeding bottom right, I had it for 3 days, went to Johannesburg for a week, came back and took it their authorised repair center, they said because I've had it for over 7 days, it won't be replaced, but repaired.

They said they give Samsung 21-days to authorize new parts, if they don't authorize new parts by then, they'll request it to be swapped out, but they're not sure how long that'll take... nice company huh?

Its annoying... on Monday I'm going to drive there... see how they deal with me in person... The woman actually told me to phone the shop I bought it for if I'm not happy with the warranty service... I did.... they said phone the service center back and ask to speak her manager...needless to say...nothing helped. What grates me is they can't tell me I'm going to get it back..

i got me a 22" acer, its great, i dunno if its as good as a samsung, but its good enough.... get the 24", bigger the better!!

I have a Samsung 17" and my friend has a 17" Acer... My Samsung beats that anyday! But the 24" might be good... Its why I'm asking..

Nits are for brightness so the higher the better, contrast ratio also the higher the better.....

I remember checking out all the monitors in IC before getting the Samsung 226BW ....The 24" Acer was R3999 at that time so out of my price range but i do remember the quality not being as good, but you never know if all the monitors are coming off the same kind of display card.....

Blech - but that should not be standard on all of them

Is it glossy? How did it compare otherwise quality-wise? Is there only the grey one or is there black as well? Black is much better....

The quality looked ok, but I only briefly had a look, considering getting it, and pawning off my Samsung when I finally get it back... God help them if they give me back the monitor in the same condition over a month later... you will read about me inthe newspaper for a racist attack on whites...and I'm white..
