Acer Aspire One

The only things I can think of are the speakers, or the wifi card or antenna. But the wifi wont have an effect if the battery is out. Maybe the speakers are behind the screen. Also, it doesn't do it if the wifi on the "top" netbook is off. And where is the screen lid switch if the front feet need to touch?:confused:

Mine doesn't need to touch. Just needs to be within 1cm.

An antenna is great for radiating electromagnetic power. In certain circumstances, the same antenna may be good at receiving electromagnetic power. Electromagnetic waves can induce a current, which in turn can induce an electromagnetic wave. This seems to be what is causing the issue.

Looking for a thin piece of sheet metal to put between them to see if it still happens.

A double layer of kitchen Alu foil doesn't stop it. I'll try again tomorrow with something thicker.

any place in SA that stocks / sells 6 or 9 cell batteries?
Also must still get sum big SD cards (8/16/32gb+)

Must say. i'm quite impressed with ubuntu netbook remix. Did have to add a few extra apps, but running quite well.

Ok, this is just a question I really do not need to post, but because of circumstances I have to:

Did anyone that bought an AspireOne received a Software Recovery disk with the contents of the box? (CD) I bought the B150 (windows version) and installed Ubuntu on it. I then somehow the harddrive got physical damage (from the output in the startup) and I can't even boot using a Live session (Ubuntu).

I returned it to Incredible Connection some time ago together with everything that came in the box.
Last week Incredible Connection contacts me and say I should bring in my recovery disks.
Today a technician calls and asks for the software again... also they contacted Acer and it's a software error that needs to be fixed ("using the recovery disks that came with the laptop" note *laptop* as the term they address the netbook).

What am I to do to get through to them?
I want to insist on the warranty replacement because it's still under warranty.

I bought the A110L which came with the recovery disc (but no optical drive, hehe) for Linpus Linux Lite.

Also got a recovery disk with my Acer. You use that to create a bootable-usb flash disk, with which you install/recover the operating system.
My Acer is currently running Ubuntu Netbook Remix, and is very happy with it. :D

I thought the AAO XP models came with a recovery partition.

I noticed there is a 5GB hidden partition called PQSERVICE (EISA configuration) but now how does one access this when you need to?

I got my Aspire One yesterday with no recovery disk either.
