My mum's had the same one for over 4 years. Apart from the time I fried the 64mb graphics card playing NFS, she hasn't had a single issue with it. Only formatted it once cos I was being my usual self - not cos there were any problems.

Am I the only one that noticed that that is NOT normal?? :confused::confused:
 
It was a crappy little 64mb ATI something or the other...
I insisted on running Underground at max res, max specs. It was fine, but it was getting hot during longer gameplays. I could see it was struggling but I just had to finish my race... sadly, I never did

That ridiculous, what sort of machine doesn't shut down if the PC is going through all hell. I know for a fact when any component of my compaq or hp's ever overheated the machine shut itself down. I know some1 who has had a problem with gfx on a HP, and it shut down when it heated, and i personally had a compaq overheating with the wifi, and it would also shut down... this nonsense of frying is BS!

For me it's the opposite. I have had hassles with 2 out of 3 HP laptops and only 1 problem with an Acer (out of quite a few). I think the local Acer support stinks but the product is rock solid.
 
Oh about the HP they local support sucks aswell. They use ICSS. But i will say every1 i know with a DELL is happy with it, and the support!
