Acid reflux

I was also diagnosed with silent reflux
Took my PPI's religiously. Took them for 10 WEEKS.
PPI's didn't improve it that much so I started reading up on the root causes

The symptoms were terrible -

Tight throat - globus like symptoms
Difficulty swallowing
Dryness in esophagus
Acid buildup caused asthma like coughing and thick mucus
A lot of anxiety
Real bad digestion, even worse when on PPI's

Bottom line - with the right approach it will heal again!

I was certain that the hell that is Silent Reflux would have never end - but rejoice ladies and gents - it can end very soon if the correct approach is taken.

I'm not discrediting the medical and pharmaceutical industry in any way but from all the posts I have read I notice that people have been on PPI's and H2's for years. In my opinion there is no need if you can get your body to adapt to these natural remedies below.

Discontinued PPI's to try a natural approach

1. Lifestyle changes - lose weight, dont eat late, diet changes
2. Stress is a factor
3. Supplementing RAW ORGANIC APPLE CIDER VINEGAR - 1 tbsp in a glass of water. The acidity and live enzymes really balances it out.
4. I keep pickled sushi in my fridge and take 2 slithers before bed.
5. Swopped my normal table salt for Pink Himalyan Crystal salt, Nr 1 reason is that it is richer in elements that produce HCL which is the stomach acid you have so little off. (The sphincter muscle relaxes due to inadequate acid in the stomach as it thinks its empty - boom -GERD or GORD!!!)

Voila - Inflamed Silent reflux throat gone in less than 2 weeks. I've had 99% great health up until the festive season 2015. You know where we TEND TO OVERDO it a bit. 4 days of excessive eating and drinking (alcohol) and now its flaring up again.

Curing Gerd / LPR is a continuous lifestyle commitment as you can see it took me 4 days to destroy my progress. It wil surely take some time and patience again to get healed up.

I will continue with my lifestyle change/Apple cider vinegar and ginger approach as it surely helps for me.

I was convinced until you got to the himalayan salt part.

Let me guess, you have a salt lamp and a power bracelet too?

Try cutting down radically on carbs, especially sugary ones.

This. Change your diet.

eat earlier

This as well, as when you wake up the next morning you'll feel fscked... This will reduce the symptoms the next morning.
I had a reflux in the morning combined with a post nasal drip. Had to puke my lungs out every morning before I go to work.

I have the same problem - was told to go for an op, I am not in favour of it. I am current using Lancap (OTC), working wonders, but not sure if this is the right way to go or if I should go for the op.

I tried Lancap before but it didn't do much. I still have some tabs left from last year.

I am currently using nothing, I just changed my diet.

Have u tried Apple Cider Vinegar? Not kidding

I agree, but it MUST be raw and unfiltered and preferably organic. It will help to balance the yeasts and bacteria in your gut.

I also can highly recommend Kombucha and Kefir and Sauerkraut and Kimchi.

These are all fermented foods rich in probiotics ( way better than the stuff from the pharmacy! )
But these foods must all be raw and should be organic. If its the pasteurized versions they are completely USELESS!
Because its all the different beneficial bacteria that you want.

Fermented foods are the key to a healthy gut and they can cure way more than just some acid reflux.

My wife had really bad heartburn problems after our first child and she was also quickly prescribed PPI medication, but to no avail.
But when she changed our diet from the usual "everything must be pasteurized and sterile foods" to a diet that included lots of fermented food not only the acid reflux disappeared, but also her allergies and other problems.

Hey guys, suffer from major acid reflux after every meal, been for scopes, doctors say everything is fine, been on nexium for over 6 months but I decided to drop it as it's bad if taken for a long period. Anyone got some solutions, remedies I can try.
Nexium made me mental. But doc had me on 40mg AM, and another 40mg PM. 4 times the average dose. Side effects were hectic.
Eventually went for the op and never looked back. Life altering.

Good thing you stopped using it!

100% agree Mike I was on 80mg a day 4 emergency room visits and nothing was helping (tried librax, colpamon, and many others i cannotvremember anymore)... did ginger did Apple cider avoided caffeine etc etc etc and then had nissen fundo op and 18 months later 15 kgs lighter and life is good :-)
