Activating a DSTV decoder

I have a couple of questions about about a decoder.First I would like my family who live in Joburg (im in East London) to buy a DSTV decoder which will be linked to my existing DSTV account and im not sure if its possible that they can buy the decoder and have it activated there without my presence or signature of signing any forms. Secondly, id like to know if the decoder can be activated while its offline (without being switched on) so that I can add it to my account and have it ready so that by the time a technician mounts the dish it will be ready to work. Any input will be welcome.

AFAIK if they buy the decoder & give you the smartcard number you can activate it on your account over the phone with the call centre. It will then be ready when installed

In case you don't know, you will pay full subs for this decoder, it can't be linked via Xtraview
