Cant believe no dedicated server support well this is BS wat a way to ruin a potentially great game :( :(

A very sad gamer

Actually it is Activision to blame, they the publishers and they decide the pirce and what to include or leave out.

They trying to follow the example they set with Starcraft2.

And what example is that!? What are they trying to prove? They must understand that it's us, the people who buy the game that decide, we are right, not them.

Think of it like this, you never see the new Toyota Yaris becoming a gas guzzling super car, why? because they have customers that want a cheap car that easy on fuel and that still has nice little features...

Activision is not the alpha and not the omega of gaming, they should not decide what they think is fit to remove! I really hope the word of this gets out far enough to make the game really suffer. I know IW and Activision will survive if no one buys the game (and pirates), I just hope that enough people realize that if we scare the big corporates, they will change.

It's not Activision, whoever said that is just plain ignorant about most publisher/developer relationships. Here is the deal straight from IW about their relationship with Activision.

When asked, Robert [Bowling] is very clear about the role Activision plays in the development of Modern Warfare 2 - “None”.

"Activision is the publisher and it is their job to handle the business side of the industry. They make sure to get all the games to the stores, worry about pricing and marketing. Infinity Ward is the one focusing on all the creative stuff. The collector editions we came up with are our own ideas and work. Only when the decision is made at Infinity Ward, Activision is contacted to work out all the logistics."

Well at this stage rumours are going around that alot of retailers actually are cancelling their pre-order shipment due to all the cancellations from our side.

Well than Activision failed to do their side of things, obviously they must handle the marketing of the game and also advise IW what the community wants from the game, they should have seen the lack of dedicated servers as A MAJOR problem and advised IW accordingly!

well, this is what I'm thinking, this game is going to sell very sparsely in comparison to CoD4... There's been a serious number of pre-order cancellations, and it's the pre-orders that make a game earn the big bucks on the opening weekend... There will still be many ignorant walk-in buyers, but once they find out that the game has no dedicated server (they can't find the server that's close to them, look online and discover that they got screwed), they'll tell there friends to not buy the game...

Don't get me wrong, it's going to sell millions of copies, but it really won't do all that well in comparison.

Agree Scotty.

I preach to all who even thinking of getting one at this stage.

We might not hurt the industry but we will be putting a sucker punch in at least.
So try to spread the word and lets see what will happen.

I am really sorry for the retialers its not their fault but this is beyond earnings now.

if you guys honestly think activision has no influence on the game in terms of content etc you guys are dumber than i thought.

and +1 for the name of the thread!
