I have added an extra 4GB of memory to my system yesturday bringing the total to 6GB. The diffirence is unbelievable!

Now only to upgrade my 2x1GB modules with 2x2GB to bring the total to 8GB :D

Vista x64 with 6GB of memory... its really really really good!

Hmmm... sounds awesome.
Been wanting to upgrade my ram for ages too but something always comes up.

Is that DDR2 800 you've got?

Have u taken out the 2x1Gig and see what the difference is between 4gigs and 6gigs. I think most of use use 4gig and don't really think it is worth it to go for 8gigs yet :)

Mmm I've been wanting to go for 4 gig, problem is I have 4x512mb DDR2 800.....

No, but I can do the test for you. Will post the result sometime during the week.

Yeah 1066 is insane...
Anyone know how much of a performance difference there is btwn the 667 & 800?

I notice quite a difference. But there's barely any price difference. 800 is so much better...

The current optimum amount of RAM sits at 4GB. 6/8GB is only worthwhile if you run masses of memory intensive applications or use VMs that are allocated large amounts of RAM.

This morning one of my 2GB chips decided it doesn't want to work with the others anymore! This is in less than a week , will take it back to get it replaced...

So I'm now sitting with only 4GB, and I must say that the diffirence is not really noticable but I do notice a diffirence in Visual Studio, it takes a fraction longer to open and the solutions takes a fraction longer to open.

In general use of the system, didn't pick up anythin.
