Adding to RA - which option is best

Or it can be a catastrophe of terms and conditions when failing to pay, so not an advantage at all.

It cuts both ways and isn’t really beneficial.

Better financial education and self discipline goes a much longer way than forced investment contracts.

And if the cost of said contracts means a major loss or low performance over alternatives then it makes even less sense.
Factor in investment risk then the picture will be clearer. When you are young and poor can you afford to take major risks? Ask the people who invested with Sharemax or other higher risk schemes how well that worked for them.

Fact is, there is a place for every type of investor and circumstances will dictate which investment vehicle is the best for you.

What you are saying is spot on ... BUT, if you know you have a RA, ask for a statement and look at the cost (fees).

Think what we are trying to do, alert people who want to save, to ask questions.

Now you are changing the goal posts again.

Risk has nothing to do with the type of investment, whether it’s contracted or pay as you go.

Risk is purely about what you are investing in, portfolio choice.

Which is by and large irrelevant to an RA which is already risk mitigated by its existence.
