I'm about to hit 58 with my first character. I would just like advice on where to go from there. Should I first complete the quests I still have left in Azeroth, or would it be better to head straight to outland?

i say straight to outland! you'll find much better gear almost immediately as a result of quest rewards and some few drops, and getting from 58 to 60 will be quick! its what i did with mine, and im about to do it with my alt too.

Go to outland, drop the other quests if u dont really want to fin them all off, but u'll have much better luck in outland with gear and exp

Outlands is a lot better gear and xp rates and the quests are a lot better designed but depending on your class/gear - you might battle a bit at first with the Outland quests at level 58. I know on my DK & Druid that Outland at level 58 was piss easy but I battled on my mage and shaman for some reason.

Straight to Outlands. The XP you get from completing quests is significantly higher.

true - i know for sure that i will struggle with questing in outland with my shammy healer cos my dps is so low. i will probably get a buddy to help out just to complete the first lot of quests for gear and xp, and then carry on using random dungeons to level like i've been doing since level 15!

You'll pick up so much gear in the starting areas of Outlands your DPS problems will be solved in no time.

well Im no pro, but what I did was lvl till 60 THEN I went to outlands... Just so it was a little easier! :)

Now Im approaching 70 and Im totally raping with my ret pally... its insane. judgement... crusader strike... divine storm... judgement... hammer of wrath...

stuff just DIES soooo quickly.... crit crit crit all the time lol

Im loving lvling with this pally right now, you guys were right... it is a lot of fun! :)

I suggest the first thing you do when you login is to open the LFG for a random and join as dps and the go quest in Outland. It might take awhile for the group to form, but the recent cross realm LFG system is great and the xp boost from being in a 5man is comparable to Outland and you might even pick up some blues to help you in Outland. You also get some achievements. Its a win option really.

Just approach this in the right frame of mind and dont get too stressed about what can happen in a pug :D

I been doing that with my lowbie druid it works well.

Try it. If you dont like it, then maybe go to Western Plaguelands/Eastern Plaguelands or Silithus till you hit 59 or 60.

There is no point in not going to outland at 58. The first few quests are super easy for any class/spec. The XP boost are more than twice what you would get in the old world, not to mention the green/blue items from Outland > Molten Core epics items.

Going to outland at 58, and you wont even get to the 3rd set quests before you hit 60, thats how fast you will do 58-60 in Outland. Literally not even an hour to get 2 levels (helps if you know the quests :P)

ABANDON ABANDON ABANDON all quests and Off to Outland with you... -.- always enter Random Dungeons aswell and level like a Mofo RoFL!

Apart from the higher XP gains you'll also find that the quest hubs in Outland are far better organised, meaning less running around from one side of the map to another.

Make sure to have already acquired your epic riding skill so that as soon as you hit level 60 you can grab your flying skill. Flying around Outland this early makes it so much easier to level as well ^_^

On a side note, how much is the flying skill?
