Is Adobe Acrobat (the full program) OS dependant or not?
Will I have to purchase a Mac version when I migrate over to a Mac from Windows? Or can I simply uninstall on Windows and install on Mac?

Yes, Acrobat is hardly needed. The built-in app, Preview, can edit, merge, annotate PDF's really well.

Well Acrobat X is nice for converting from Word to PDF (to include bookmarks etc, create PDF forms etc.)..

my friend has a mac, he could not open the Portfolio documents (collage) I sent him built with Acrobat X. I think best will be to use Preview for editing and use the Free Adobe Reader X for complex compilations made in Acrobat X.
